Carrickeast Construction Ltd were chosen as SSE’s preferred contractor to carry out works on Phase 1 at their Decoy solar farm site at Oving Chichester West Sussex. This involved the installation of 3 number haul roads and 3 number concrete pads for installation of their new Sub-Stations along with ducting and cable installation.
These works provided a number of safety issues such as working around live solar panels along with no cable records of where the existing cables were installed.
Carrickeast Construction used the services of Ground penetrating radar (GPR) Company to map out the areas and to recored the location of the buried services to allow work to proceed safely. All the woks were completed on time and within budget with no accidents/incidents.
